“The mind” by Maarja Jõemägi

The mind is a powerful instrument if utilized in the right way. When we silence the mind, we can hear the voice of our hearts, and as I shared the previously, experience pure joy. The joy that comes from the inside and isn't affected by the external reality.

What is the mind? It's a tool. It has the power to control how we feel and the way we act. The thoughts in our minds create an emotion, and emotion creates a reaction. Therefore we can change our reality by changing our minds, changing our thoughts. Mind is not the enemy, and there is no need to destroy it. When we try to destroy or fight the mind, we are only creating more resistance.

Mind and brain are not the same things - the brain is a physical organ. The mind, on the other hand, is non-physical, formless. States of mind can disturb our inner peace, and these are the leading causes of all our suffering. The untrained mind criticizes, judges, compares, fights, feels lack, manipulates, can't stand criticism, wants to dominate, and so much more. The untrained mind is so hypnotizing, intensive and fast, taking us over, so we start to identify ourselves through the mind, therefore losing touch with our true essence. The outcome is that we feel confused about who we are, and we feel discontent with ourselves and the world. A trained mind is there to help us, not hold us back in life.

As someone in our PiMOV community expressed, the mind no longer rules over her, and she is grateful for it. It's important to become friends with it so we could start co-creating this life together. There are numerous techniques and practices we can use to train the mind.
