Meditation isn't the only way to feel Oneness
Sitting down to meditate isn't the only way to feel the unconditional love that you are and your interconnectedness with others. That's what I've discovered via PiMOV. "Active meditation" is the state of being where you consciously connect to the heart, listening and sharing from there, staying in the present and observing through your open heart. When living from the inside-out, you can do so at any moment in time through the power of your heart.
Many years ago, I came to experience Oneness for the first time. Today, I can still recall this experience in detail. It happened the only time when I fainted in my life: I felt a nauseous pain in the belly that disappeared the moment I disconnected with my body. I then found myself surrounded by an amazing and indescribable bright light, a sensation of limitless freedom and unconditional love. I remember telling to myself "This must be heaven!" when I found myself consciously observing and enjoying the sensations of infinite peace, love, freedom and ultimately, Oneness. I felt indisputable dissolved in this heavenly experience until I was drawn back into my body, where I reconnected to the pain that I had left behind.
I will always be grateful for having had the opportunity to experience an out-of-body phenomena with all these amazing and limitless emotions. However, I belief that anyone can experience this Oneness that expresses itself as unlimited unconditional love by willingly connecting to the heart without having to wait for anything else to trigger it. This is what we at PiMOV call "active meditation".
I am an open-hearted human, who in the last years has learned to openly express the love that I am. I grew up being very shy until my twenties, very insecure for many more years because of what the outside world could say of me. I lived for others, and not for myself. In my thirties, I woke up and decided to start loving, valuing and respecting myself.
It did take many years for me to understand what it is to love and value myself (yourself). I had a glimpse of this unconditional love that poured out of me when I decided to take action to love myself. It is this love which provided me with the necessary and endless courage to start the adventure of knowing myself. I was in survival mode, and the heart was guiding me.
I started experiencing Oneness many years later through meditation. It is then when I associated these amazing emotions with my prior out-of-body experience. However, due to not valuing myself enough, I was not considering that I had the intuitive knowing to meditate, not recognising that I had the ability to easily fall into this state of bliss. I searched this knowledge outside in books and videos and lost my way of connecting to the heart. At this point in my life, I was merely looking into the outside to grow myself.
One thing is to love yourself, and another is to value yourself. You can say that they are interconnected, that when love happens, value happens. However, it might take time for value to be strong enough not to doubt yourself.
My outside world had been shaped with a specific worldview that was set by my education and personal experiences. Once I realised this, I taught myself to open up my perception, to challenge myself to look into other options, to break my mind by reading about other possibilities, and to respect any new point of view that was not mine.
Throughout the years of exploring and experiencing, I have learned to live from the inside-out, actively meditating by staying in observation with what is happening within and outside of me, listening to my inner wisdom and opening perceptions through the unconditional love that I experience when connecting to the heart.
I realised the importance of being who I truly am when I started consciously connecting to the heart. This is when Ilearned to love, value and respect myself foremost, understanding that only through the love that I hold for myself, I can love, value and respect others equally. When you are love, you loose your persona. Surely, you maintain a certain aspect of your identity since you are human, but you have become borderless.
I've come to the conclusion that meditation is not the only way to grow your spirituality, or to connect to your Higher Self, or to Oneness, or any of the growth aspects you have been told that meditation provides to you. It is connecting to the heart, which supports you in your recognition of your Self, in whatever way is good for you.
Active meditation enables to live from the inside-out discovering the limitless potential that you already are, knowing that everyone and everything is connected, understanding the power of co-creation, and loving, valuing and respecting everyone in this amazing world. This is part of what Socially-Conscious Leadership is all about.
